Persistent Knee, Ankle, and Calf Pain: Causes & Next Steps

Question
I have this constant aching in my ankles,
knees and my calfs hurt.
When I am sitting on the couch with my legs up my ankles ache real bad like a toothache and I have to keep twisting and moving them around but still get no comfort. My knees also ache.
When I kneel down on floor and try to get up they all hurt and feel weak.
When I stand up all the back of my calfs hurt.
Already had blood work for arthritis and was
negative.Had a bone scan and that showed
achille tendonitis.Would that be causing all my knee, ankle and calf problems.
Has been going on for many many months.
They all ache so bad I have a hard time falling asleep because I can't get comfortable.

Any suggestions or remedies.

Thanks

Answer
You didn't specify your age but I always worry about circulation problems, also general tests for inflammatory arthritis, as opposed to the specific ones like rheumatoid.  I like to get a sed rate, because normal means you don't have any, if elevated, not sure which one though, and a good trial of arthritis type meds and "rehab" which may mean wrapping, ice/heat treatments, etc, all of which can be done at home.

But circulation check is important, sometimes it sneaks up on us, esp in our 40's,made worse w/cigarettes, etc.

Hope this helps....
