Hemorrhoid Removal: What to Expect After Treatment

Question
You mentioned that people aren't required to spend days in the hospital, so does that mean the removal of the hemmorhoids is done at a regular office visit and then the person goes home? Are people usually required to have someone drive them home after the procedure?

Question -
Would suppositories still be inserted even if the hemmorhoids are external? I also read that if the hemmorhoids are small they can just be injected at a regular doctor's appointment. Is that true? What I see when I look in that area is something the size of jelly beans. Is that considered small enough to be injected? Would I see a regular internal medicine doctor about this or would I need a specialist?

Question -
Are suppositories inserted somewhere? Is it painful? Also, I tried looking in that area and I do see some sort of swelling, so I'm assuming that means they are external and not internal. What is the surgical procedure like? Does it require days in the hospital? How long is the recovery period?

Hi. I have a few questions about hemmorhoids. First, what is the usual treatment for hemmorhoids? How long does treatment usually take? Is this something that people live with and treat when they flare up, or do they have to be surgically removed? I read somewhere that people sometimes think they have hemmorhoids, but it's actually a cut in or near the anus caused by a large bowel movement. Is that true?

Answer
does that mean the removal of the hemmorhoids is done at a regular office visit and then the person goes home? At an outpatient surgical center usually and after the anesthetic wears off the patient can be driven home by a family member.
