Delayed Wound Healing: Causes, Symptoms & When to See a Doctor

Question
Hi I just have a question, I just wanted to know the severity of this situation. I have been noticing lately when I get a cut anywhere on my skin, that its been taking longer and longer to heal and stop bleeding. Like one time I got a very small cut on my arm and you could barely see it and it wouldn't stop bleeding for hours.  When I get scratches it takes weeks before they completely go away. I have heard of people that have this problem, I don't know what it is called. Well Please write me back as soon as possible. Thank you.

Answer
Dear Chris,   People who get cuts and sores that will not heel or take a long time to heel could be Diabetic and not even know it....  As for the bleeding, you could have a blood problem that causes your blood not to clot...

I suggest that you go to your doctor and tell him/her what you have told me, so that diagnostic blood tests can be done....

thank you,  karen
