QuestionHello,
I had a question about birth control pills and I hope you can help me!
I am currently taking Ovcon-35 and need to find a pill that is more affordable.
However, I need to know something about birth control pills in general.
Besides the monophasic pills having one set amount of hormone and the triphasic pills having three different amounts depending on the week, what other differences are there?
When would a monophasic pill be perscribed as opposed to a triphasic on and vice-versa. I am looking for something as I noticed with this new pill I am breaking out with acne worse than I did with my Ortho-Tricyclen Lo. Any information would be helpful!
AnswerYes, for details go to www.nih.gov and search for birth control pills, types.
Ask the pharmacist for the generic version of the orthotricylen lo if it was better.
I use pill types by body types with estrogen based pills for highly estrogenized women(pencil or bananna shaped) and progestin pills for more progesterone women(pear or apple shaped)
