QuestionThank you Dr. Aukerman for hearing my question. I am a former nursing student and understand medical terminology quite well. Regarding menopause, I am currently taking Premarin 0.625mgs, and at last 14 days of a three month term of this I take medroxyprogesterone 10 mgs. I am also taking synthroid 0.125mgs for Graves Disease. The question is: Since entering into menopause 2 months ago, my sex drive has totally dropped. I simply cannot even conjur up a pretense at wanting to engage in sex. I feel fine in every other aspect. I had a difficult surgical procedure end of April, Bi-lateral, 2 wall orbital decompression, to reduce the pressure in my eyes due to Thyroid Eye disease, but have fully healed and recovered. Is this loss of sex drive due to menopause or the meds for it? What options are available to try to restore it?
Thank you again for your time.
Cindy
AnswerIt is due to the toxic excess of omega-6 in the diet from chicken, turkey, peanut products, chips, flax and soy so ask your doctor if you can take 2000mg of omega-3 before each meal and at bedtime to restore your healthy sex drive and health in general.
