Spotting on Birth Control Pills: What to Expect

Question
I have recently switched from ortho tri-cyclin to ortho tri-cyclin low and I switched started the new pills in June and was spotting the week before I was due to start and never had a full blown period, it is not July and I am spotting the week before my sugar pills again. Is that normal?

Answer
Nothing about the pill and your body is normal when you are taking the pill.  You are taking artificial hormones and they have effects on your body.  It is what it is.  It might improve or get worse.  If you are concerned, you could get a pregnancy test.  You can get used to it or switch back to the other pill if it doesn't start doing what you would like to expect.
