Using Femilion for Contraception: Safety and Considerations

Question
My doctor has advised FEMILION Oral Contraceptive Pills for regularizing my periods (and not as a contraceptive drug). I used these pills for about 4 months, after which the doctor asked me to stop the pill. Now I would like to start a contraceptive pill and so I am planning to use the same pill. In my country, we usually don't talk to doctors about these before marriage. So I am asking for your advice. Can I use the same drug?

Another problem is that my last period was 7 days ago and I would like to start the pill from today i.e., the 8th day after my period. I would like to know whether it would be effective and can I use it. Shall I start from the 1st pill today or from the 8th pill?

I and my boyfriend had sex three days ago and will this prevent pregnancy. I thank you in advance for the help to be rendered by you.

Thank you

Priya

Answer
Yes, you can take the same pill if it is a contraceptive. You have to start taking it on the day it is prescribed according to the type it is.  Your doctor will tell you what day to take it.  If you don't take it at the right time you will mess up your cycles.  The pill will not prevent a pregnancy from sex three days ago.  You will have to use another form of birthcontrol until your next period and start taking it at the appropriate time.  Or you could continue to be abstinent.  That would be the best.
