Loestrin 24 Fe: What to Do After Missing a Pill - Pregnancy Risk & Backup Options

Question
I started my new pack on Sunday (2 days ago) of active pills. Today is Tuesday, I woke up at my regular time to take my pill and realized I forgot to take it Monday. I took Monday's pill followed by Tuesday's pill at the usual time I take the pill per the directions. Do I need to use backup birth control now for the whole month? Or week? I did have sex Sunday (day I took first active pill) with withdrawal. Is there a chane of pregnancy?

Answer
If you have been taking the pills regular, you are still protected. You will not ovulate. If you missed one pill, merely take two the next day. If you missed two pills, take two the next day and two the day after. However, if you missed three pills in a row, throw the pack away, wait until Sunday, and start a new pack.Until then, use an additional method (condoms, diaphram, etc). It is not necessary to use the "morning after pill" unless you are not on any pills
