Persistent Skin Scab Near Hairline: Causes & When to See a Doctor

Question
I have noticed a persistent scab centrally located, just into the hairline of my occiput. I have thus far been unable to view it, but have been aware of its presence for several weeks. Is this a common area for such things? Any recommendations?

Answer
Thanks for your critique. What exactly were you looking for in the answer that caused you to write:
I am well aware that non-healing sores "can" be cancer...also aware that they are also frequently NOT cancer. Since I have diabetes, it may just need a boost.
I asked a two-fold question and, unfortunately, there
was no attempt to address the larger question. Sorry......you didn't
hit the big scores on this response, but I am sure you know your stuff.
