Labial Sores: Causes, Symptoms & When to See a Doctor

Question
I don't know what other category to put this in, so I came here. Recently, I have had trouble with sores that look like zits or mouth ulcers on my labia minora. I got the first one on the left side two weeks ago when I had the flu. Now I have another on the right side. It is about the size of a pencil eraser and sore to the touch. I haven't been sexually active for years, and when I was active in the past I always used condoms, but I am still worried because you just never know about these things. Does this sound like a herpetic sore? I put neosporin on the first sore and it went away within a few days.

Answer
It sounds like it could be but I can't diagnose over the internet. I recommend that you see a doctor if you still have the second sore. It seems odd that you would get this if it is herpes after all these years. I suppose it could have been dormant and became active from stress? This is just a guess. Also, condoms do not prevent diseases, infections or STD's. Maybe people thought so in the past but new studies have shown condoms not to be 100% effective in preventing STD's.
