Answer -
It depends on how old you are... if you are past about 16, then your growthplates are closed and you can't grow any taller... if you are younger, there are medications that can make you grow... human growth hormone, that are controversial and some/most doctors won't use them strictly to make someone taller. I doubt if second hand smoke did anything.... most likely simply genetics... the genes you inherited from your parents.
Answerheight is multifactorial.... meaning lots of causes... genes, nutrition, etc. Also, it isn't a straight gene that causes height.... it is a combination, so you are ensured of being tall if both your parents are tall. We have a child in our neighborhood who has dwarfism with both parents over 6 foot 2. that is the other extreme, but it isn't as simple as measuring your parents and averaging them.
