Growth Hormone Release: Truth About Midnight Peak & Sleep

Question
Is it true that the pituitary gland shuts off the production of growth hormone at midnight?

I always thought that the pituitary gland secretes the most growth hormone during the first two hours of sleep, WHENEVER the person goes to bed.  Suppose a person is unable to get to bed and get two hours sleep before midnight, will that person's body simply not produce growth hormone because midnight has passed? or will that person still produce some amount of growth hormone and potentially use it to grow in height, but will not produce as much growth hormone as he/she would have produced if he/she went to bed and got two hours sleep before midnight.

Thanks in advance

Answer
the pituitary gland has no idea what time it is.... with these hormone loops... there are peaks and valleys of hormone production.... during sleep, the first few hours produce the most, but it is not shut off afterwards, just less production.

Wouldn't it be nice to stay on a specific sleep schedule to get taller.....
