Food Poisoning & Heart Issues: Diagnosis & Reporting
QuestionIs food poisoning diagnosed properly with chest xrays and partial upper body CAT scans? In other words, can information pertinent to food poisoning be garnered from xray and CAT scans? If the xray and CAT scan weren't necessary, who do I report this too? I don't have medical insurance. Thanks.
Answerfood poisoning is a general term, meaning poisoned by something in food... there are different poisons... the ones that can be identified are usually through blood tests, but most cannot be tested for and the diagnosis comes through the history and the exam.. so depending on symptoms, I can't tell if a chest xray and cat scan were medically necessary... I would first complain to hospital administration at that hospital... there is always room to bargain for people without insurance
