Head Trauma Symptoms: Causes, Relief, and When to Seek Medical Attention

Question
I awoke on the floor from my bed early in the morning a week ago, possibly on a sugar high, I had High pitched sounds going and dizziness, the top and right side of my head was really sore, may have hit the hit the floor, then the side bed railing, or possibly just beaten in my sleep!  I iced it down all over my head for 2 days, then had a feeling of constricting and contracting, pulling and pushing of the veins in different places in my head, garlic and onions decreased the sensation, now I feel a light headness and memory is poor, please advise on what to do?  Cat scan is negative, should I also get an MRI, i requested for an MRI, since it was all veins or brains, but the doctor gave me a cat scan, and the tech said it was cheaper, thats why we had the cat scan done any way, can I get a refund for this, since they didn't give me the diagnosis and treatment I wanted?  What type of doctor should I see?

Answer
from your question, you either have a concussion or add or bipolar disease....

For a head injury, the best test to have is a cat scan... with a head injury, what you want to look for is bleeding in the head and that shows up very well on a cat scan, and sometimes won't show up on an MRI for some technical reasons....

I am more worried that you don't know why you hit your head, possibly fainted... If you did completely faint to the point where you hit your head and don't remember, you might need a cardiac (heart) evaluation for t his.  You said sugar high, so if you are diabetic, this might have been a low sugar reaction... I don't see those symptoms happening if you got your sugar up a little bit.  Anyways, like I said, the best test was the Cat scan, so if that is negative, there is no bleeding in the head.  If this is a concussion, then all tests will be negative, and you just have to give it time.  It does sound like that with the light headedness and the memory problems.... so give it some time and investigate the heart if fainting was a possibility.
