Scalp Itchiness and Soreness: Causes, Symptoms & Relief

Question
hi,
for the past 2 and a bit months i've had a strange itchy soreness on my scalp, it seems to be in small, localised areas on the top of my head, the sides and occasionally the back and feels like itchy sunburn or beestings.i have little red spots/lumps on my scalp that are sore and tender. i also have a tingly rash on my face and forehead (red spots under the skin).i work with kids and originally thought it was headlice, so i treated for these. however the problem still persists. i don't scratch uncontrolably. my head feels more sore than itchy, i've been down the sensitivity route and can't think of anything it could be that i've changed in my routine. i've even tried bathing in just water for a week and its made no difference. i've been to the doctor and seen a pharmasist and they don't seem to know what it is. its making me miserable as i don't know what to do next, my head just doesn't feel normal.
all i can keep thinking is at the time it came about, i'd took a sick rabbit in from the fields which was infested with mites, fleas and god knows what else! could i have picked anything up from the rabbit like mites? i remember seeing something on my hand as i was washing the rabbit, that was a translusent, barely visible insect. surely though, they cannot survive on humans? please help. any advice would be really appreciated

Answer
Usually mites and fleas are visible and do not survive well in clean human environments.

My patient find relief with the application of generous amounts of extra virgin olive oil after baths, showers and at bedtime. Applied and left on for 5 minutes then wipe off the excess gently and cover with a white T-shirt that is washed once a week. Also decrease the use of soap and fabric softners and bath soaps.
