Understanding Recent Bruising and Dizziness: A Health Assessment
QuestionI am a healthy 48 year old female. I take hormones, calcium, vitamin, Wellbutrin, Vitamin C, and an aspirin every day. I am a smoker and drink one to two glasses of red wine a day. I workout 3-4 times a week. The past few weeks I have noticed lots of little bruising on my legs and arms and the past two mornings when I woke up I felt like I was falling out of bed. This morning it felt like the bed was falling to one side and I was going to fall out. It only lasted about 20 seconds but it was very scary. I have had some bruising problems in the past (10 years ago) from an allergic reaction. My CPK was at 700 and my eosinophils got up to 19. It was from using a hair product that had animal protein (L-triptophan)in it or at least that is what they thought. All other test were negative. If I close my eyes I feel like I am dizzy and I cannot stand still - I rock up towards my toes. I did not take the aspirin this morning - I am taking it because I read it helps prevent breast cancer.
AnswerJill,
My suggestion is to see your doctor. It sounds as if you need to have some bloodwork done and a full exam. While it may be simply another reaction to meds, I would be concerned enough to rule out other causes of increased bruising and dizziness.
