Grandma's Recovery Update: Positive Progress & Weaning from Ventilator

Question
Hi Andrea,
I wanted to give you an update on my grandma. She is doing tremendously better. She is responding to commands-HER EYES ARE OPEN-THANK GOD! She knows we are there now. They were going to trach her Friday, but the doctor decided to give her the weekend and try to wean her from the ventilator tube. She is gradually doing better with that. The respitory therapist said she is breathing faster than she wants her to but it is probably because she is uncomfortable and unfamaliar with her enviroment. So I explained to my grandma what was going on and she seemed to calm down a little bit. She does has pnemonia but they are treating her with two different types of antibiotics and the x-rays indicate that it is not getting any worse. I hope that is a good sign, because she put it to us like it isn't getting any worse but it hasn't gotten any better either. But please continue to pray for her and thank you for all of your help. Kim

Answer
Kim,

I am SO happy that she is doing better.  You have both been in my prayers, and I kept wondering if I was going to hear from you again telling me how she was doing.

She is a fighter, and so are you.  You both hang in there.  My prayers will continue to flow for her, and you have faith she will get back home.
