Understanding Elevated Lymphocyte Levels and Swollen Lymph Nodes in Children
Questionmy 3 year old son has had swollen lymph nodes in his neck for over three months, i recently asked for a blood test to be done and it came back that his lymphocyte level is at 70%. two months ago he saw the doctor and was put on keflex but the swelling did not go down, so i am wondering what could cause this.
AnswerHi Rachel,
There are any number of illnesses that can cause swollen lymph nodes. It would be hard to pick any one without knowing quite a bit more. He should have some follow up blood work to see where his blood count is now. He might need a more extensive workup to determine the cause of this problem.
