Persistent Shortness of Breath: Causes, Relief, and When to See a Doctor

Question
I have trouble breathing, mostly in my diaphragm. I have had all kinds of tests and my gallbladder removed but it comes and goes. Mostly I get it when I try to take deep breathes. they never feel full then it starts. after some time it will pass then back again. Always when I try to sleep. I am on previcide but that doesn't seem to work. Incidentally when they removed my gallbladder they repaired a hernia and it felt good for a while but that was 4 years ago. I feel allot of stress when this happens and I need to get it fixed once and for all please help. I had an upper GI when they did the gallbladder and they said it was inconclusive. I am in good shape 37 years old 6'3" 212lbs muscular 36" waist 120/70 avg.BP 90-100 pulse extremely active and a little hyper.

Answer
stress test, and pulmonary function tests should be done first of all... even though you are young.  Then, consider looking for blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary emboli cat scan) if noting else is found is a possibility.  I am sure thyroid and cbc counts were already done....

good luck with it...

could this be anxiety???
