Femcon Fe and Calf Pain: A Patient's Concern - Seeking Information

hi there. im an 18 year old female & my doctor just put me on femcon fe. im overweight, have high cholestrol, & my blood pressure is a little high. he told me that this is a very low dose pill & i should benefit from it. i suffer from PMDD, horrible period cramps & very heavy periods. ever since i started this pill i have had cramping in the back of my calf. i started to freak out that i had a blood clot (i don't smoke) but the nurse i asked said a girl my age shouldn't be concerned with blood clots. is muscle cramping in the calf a known side effect of birth control? should i be concerned?

this is where it pays to have a good relationship with  your ob/gyn.... because blood clots are fairly rare but real.... if you get leg cramps, you need to be in close contact with your doc to see if it should be evalated or just followed..... clots are relativeu rare but it is hard to put a full clinical picture together on the internet..... good luck with it......
