Abnormal Pap Smear & Cervical Issues: Causes & What to Expect

I had a pap smear today my doctor found abnormal discharge and she said my cervix was inflammed and bleeding.  My husband and I have been together for ten years but she is testing me for only stds.  Is my condition common and what else can it signify besides an std?

Depending on your age, it could just be from hormonal deficiency. Another possiblilty that must be considered is cervical cancer. The PAP smear should cleear up that possibility. As for STD's it is possible that one or the other of you brought an STD to the relationship without knowing it.
