Folliculitis in Groin Area: Causes, Symptoms & Treatment

Question
I went to the Dr. today with a small swollen lymph node in my groin area, it has been swollen for sometime, it dawned on me I have had this "condition" in that area for even longer, it is a skin colored bump that appears, I squeeze it when it gets big and a smelly thick white substance comes out, it goes down, then in a few months I do it all over again.
The Dr. said she thought this is what is causing the lymph node swelling, she called it folliculitis.  I look that up, it does not sound much like mine, it is not red or painful, it is a cycle thing, it swells, I drain it, and then I do it all over again.  What does that sound like to you?  Can that cause swollen lyph nodes?

Answer
it is not unusual to have lymph nodes in the groin especially if you have boils or hair bumps in that area.... if you are treated with antibiotics and it doesn't go away, you should have the bump biopsied and cultured, but most of these are simple skin infections......
