QuestionHello, I am a bit paranoid about catching HIV, I am so paranoid that when my Husband's 15 year old Daughter wanted him to pierce her ears with a piercing kit (not a needle, but the actually piercing gun) I insisted he wore gloves as I know the girl has been sexually active.
The girl took out the earring right after it was pierced to try to put in a different earring (this does not work by the way), anyway, I picked up the earring with gloved hands, I did not notice any blood but can not be sure, the earring may have poked me, but I am not sure of that either. Should I be tested or would the Dr. just think I am nuts? I have only ever been with one man, he is for certain negative, we have been together 11 years, I do not use drugs. Thanks.
AnswerThe doctor would think you are nuts...... BUT.... if you worry about it, and lose sleep over it, then get tested..... (6 weeks after the apparent injury, 'cuz that's when you would have start testing positive)
The test is a great test, very very sensitive.
But, you do seem to be a bit preoccupied, but it is worth the cost of the test if you sleep better.
Hope this helps.....
