QuestionI have been given Lisinipril and diovan for my hypertension by my doctor here in uk,my daughter in law (dutch) is a cardiologist and tells me this combination would never be given in Holland,I would like your opinion please

Answerboth those drugs work on the renin-angiotensin system in the kidneys..... it is used.... however, that isn't my usual starting protocol... I would use one or the other, then possibly a water pill, then possibly a calcium channel blocker, then consider adding prinivil/diovan together.... I have seen it done, I don't do it personally but it isn't necessarily wrong, especially in someone with diabetes or with some kidney disease.......
Sorry, can't give you a definite answer but there are many many ways to treat htn and none is necessarily right or wrong.... but I wouldn't do it that way.
