Affordable Abortion Options & Resources for Uninsured Individuals

Question
I have a friend that asked me to look up somethings for her about abortion.  She just recently became pregnant and is afraid to tell her parents.  She's been kicked out of the house before and doesn't want that to happen again.  She doesn't have insurance and isn't under her parents insurance.  She also doesn't have the money to go about paying for an abortion as she doesn't make enough money.  What kind of advice can you give/me give her.  She does not want to keep the baby, it would be to much on her plate right now for that?

Answer
Hi Brooke :)

I hope there's a clinic nearby, if so, she should make an appointment. She can talk with a counselor there about her options money wise.

Here's a link to a place that may be able to help:

If she's a minor, she should check about the state's parental consent and/or notification laws. If she's over 18, no worries.

I'm going to give you a link to a wonderful, amazing community on livejournal.com. It's all about abortion, is non judgmental. The page you'll be linked to, if you scroll down the entire thing, has TONS of information, like where to find a clinic, what the procedure will be like. And in the memories section you can find past posts on anything you or friend will want to know.

Also, your friend may be eligible for emergency medicare/aid that would cover the procedure. If she talks to someone at a clinic, they'd make sure she has every possible option available to her.
