Arm Injury After Impact: Symptoms, Causes & Treatment Options
QuestionHello,
I injured my arm 4 months ago when a sign was picked up on a windy day and hit me. It was the thin part not the full length of the sign. It hit me in between the elbow and shoulder and I've had a lot of pain since. It also shoots down my elbow and is tingly from there down to my ring and pinky fingers. It feels like the muscle is pulled up into my shoulder and it's very painful. I've been to the ER, walk in clinic, and my family doctor and they all said the pain would go away on its own. I haven't had any testing on it. What do you think could be causing this?
Answerit sounds like you had an injury to the ulnar nerve from the sign.... you can verify that with nerve conduction studies.... if there is some soft tissue pressing on the nerve, sometimes surgery can relieve it.... if it is still bad, get the nerve conduction studies and see about a specialist to further eval it.
