Ezetrol 10mg & Ezetimibe 10mg: Understanding Cholesterol Medication

What are these tablets for?  Ezetrol 10mg and Ezetimibe 10mg.  My 75 year old mother has been told to take them

They are european forms of Zetia, which is a cholesterol lowering medication.  It lowers cholesterol by blocking your ability to absorb it in your intestines.  She should not be taking both.... it is the same medicine, so she is double dosing if she is.  The standard, all the time dose is 10 mg daily.
