Pulmonary Embolism (PE): Symptoms, Causes & Treatment - Patient Story
QuestionHello, I was recently diagnosed with pulmonary emboli. The specialist stated that I had multiple clots in both lungs. Right now they have kept me on injection blood thinners and I take it once daily. They are trying to figure out the causes because every test is coming back negative. Recently I started to get a stabbing pain in my lower right side of my back. The pain is so strong and has not gone away. When I was admitted to the hospital they gave me pain killers and the pain slowly went away. 2 weeks later the pain has come back and now it is excruciating. The pain is only on the right side of my spine around the belly bottom length. What could this pain be? I can describe it as a sharp stabbing pain. What can I do to releave the pain? Thanks
Answersomething has caused a clotting disorder... whether it is a blood disease or something else, got to figure that out. With a new pain, we worry about another clot somewhere.... talk to your doctor about testing to see if there is another clot, possibly outside the lung...... standard pain killers.... usually we use opiates in these cases.
