QuestionDoctor, for the past several years, my wife has had a lot of
discomfort from acid reflux. She currently takes meds that
are mildly beneficial. She is going to see a
gastroenterologist in a few days. She has another problem
that has me quite concerned, but we're not sure it's related
to the reflux, timing would suggest not. For about a year
she constantly chokes when eating and drinking. She doesn't
have symptoms of epiglottitis or any pain in the area. Does
this require a doctor in a different specialty or should she
also approach the gasteroenterologist about the problem?
Thanks for your time.
Answerfirstly the diagnosis needs to be made accuratly.
If it is acidity, allopathic treatment will work.
If it is GERD, you better go for homeopathy
For both these conditions, she should avoid taking more than half a glass of water:
1. before meal within 1hour,
2. during meal
3. before 1 hour after the meal
