Flu Shot Nerve Damage: Relief Options & Expert Advice
QuestionOver five years ago I received a flu shot that hit my nerve. At first it was a tingling sensation ( like when you hit your funny bone and it lasted over six months!) then a worse pain has moved up into my shoulder and will not go away! I have had neck surgery and shoulder surgery and the pain is worse! WHAT can I do to help relieve the pain? I do not/cannot take or pain meds, I am allergic or have bad reactions!
AnswerYou had the bad luck to have a direct hit to one of the skin nerves and the damaged nerve is sending unwanted signals to your brain. The most practical way is to make your way to a specialist who may be able to inject the nerve and destroy it. You might be left with a numb spot but it won't hurt like that.
