AnswerI know exactly what you are asking... I have seen it done and the coding is similar to doctor office type coding.
You will need to partner with a medical coding company. The coding stuff is really really complicated and you will spend 1/5 of your time shooting films and 4/5 of your time billing and collecting. It is worth it to give a company 5-10% of collections to do this for you. Search in your area, there will be several companies.
This tends to work fairly well in areas where doctors don't have some services.... plain xrays don't pay very well. It is the specialty ultrasounds..... echos, carotids, dopplers, so you have to have a certified cardiac reader for those.
To try and simply learn it... you will find it is really a mountain of information and time. Find a company and spend a few hours talking to one of the head coder's.
