Relaxer Processing Time: How Long to Leave It On?

Hello, the directions on the relaxer says that it can only stay on for 18-22 minutes. Does that include the application time, or do you start timing it after it has been applied all over? Thanks!

That really depends on how long it takes you to apply. If you apply quickly then you would start timing after application. If you work slowly, you would definitely start and the nape and work up and forward, so that the first areas applied can be rinsed without disturbing the rest, with each section being rinsed as it is ready. Remember also that product timings are a guideline. Hair may take more or less time to process, depending on many factors. Always start checking well before the guideline times.
