QuestionQUESTION: Hi. I have had an abortion about 2months back (medical abortion) there was quite alot of bleeding and at one stage the doctor told me to go for a DNC. I didn't go because the bleeding stopped. Ever since then my period is very irregular and there is this brown stuff coming out before i can get my cycle. i want to start Yasmin immediately and i am wondering if i can start it now, i have just finished my period.
Some people say that i must start it on the first day of my period, is this really necessary? I live in South Africa and getting Yasmin is not hard.
Could you please advice. The doctor said that i should start Yasmin to regulate my cycle. Can i start it now, when i don't have my period? Would it help me NOT fall pregnant if i do start it now?
ANSWER: Dear Navi,
Yes, you can start the yasmin now. There is no problem with that. Whatever day you start it, let's say a Friday, you must remember to start the next pack on that day. I hope this is helpful,

QUESTION: Hi Doctor
I will start the Pill now, but will it help me be infertile & will it regulate my periods? I don't want to fall pregnant so could you please explain further...i want to be absolutely positive that it will help me. Can i just use the "PILL" and no other contraceptive?
AnswerNavi,
These are best questions to ask the doctor prescribing the pills. This section of the all experts site is more about abortion than contraception. You may want to go to plannedparenthood.org to learn more about contraception. Good luck!
