Managing Nausea with Microgestin FE: A Patient's Experience

Question
Thanks for your help! I've been on microgestin fe for about six months now, and this is the one brand I've tried that doesn't make me throw up constantly. Unfortunately, it does make me nauseous for the first several days but if I take them on time and with food I manage to not throw up on those days.
So here's my problem, my prescription got refilled two days late, so I started my pack on Sunday instead of Friday and my plan was for my husband and I to use back up bc for about a week. Well this morning I realized I missed last night's so I took it as soon as I remembered. I'm already feeling sick and I'm so scared to take tonight's dose because I don't want to be sick at work tomorrow.
My question is if I were to give up on this pack and just start next month, would that cause any problems with my fertility or anything? I heard it's not good to start and restart birth control. Or suppose I were to just take a pill tomorrow, and from now on start my pack on Mondays? Would that mess anything up?
Thank you!
Jessica

Answer
You could give up on this pack and start next month.  It won't cause any problem with your fertility.  However, when a woman stops the pill, sometimes it takes 4-6 weeks for her next period to start.  You could also take a pill tomorrow and from now on start your pack on Mondays.  The important thing is to maintain effectiveness, you need to take the pill for at least 21 days, and you can't stop the active pills for more than 7 days.
