Ankle Lump Near Achilles Tendon: Causes, Relief & Safety

I have been walking around my schools campus and work a lot more then usual this spring semester and have developed a lump on the back of my ankle where my Achilles tendon is. My questions are one, how do i get rid of this and two, could it become dangerous?

It is most likely a nodule from overuse.... you didn't say what you walk in, but you may be getting some rubbing from the continuous walking.  Not dangerous... getting rid of it is more difficult.... stop the rubbing... maybe with different fitting shoes and it should go down some.
