Benefits of Walking: A 26-Year-Old's Experience with Increased Activity

Question
Hello, I am just curious about something.
I have always done a little exercising, I lift weights and stretch, along with crunches. (3-5 times a week on average)  I am also fairly active with daily activities, cleaning etc.
Recently my husband and I have been walking alot, a pedometer says I am walking about 9000 steps a day. (maybe more, we just got them) Our walks are on hilled roads, so they really use the muscle power at times.
I am a female,26 years old 5'6 145 pounds.  I eat a regular diet, not too much fat etc.
Since my husband and I have been walking I have noticed the pound or two I sometimes gained from over indulging is non existant.  I may have even lost a couple pounds.
I have been eating the same sometimes even more.  Can walking really be this good for maintaning and losing weight?
Thanks.

Answer
Hello,
YES!  Walking can definitely help you to maintain and/or lose weight.  It is one of the best forms of exercise and can really help you to burn calories and stay in shape if you do it on a regular basis!  Check out this web site for some tips and info on walking.
