Sudden Leg Weakness: Causes, Symptoms & When to See a Doctor

Question
Every once in a while, when I get out of bed in the morning (especially if it's sudden), my legs collapse.  It happened again this morning.  My legs didn't feel tingly or pins & needles, they just wouldn't hold me up.  I collapsed three times before pulling myself back into bed with my arms.  I went back to sleep and then they were fine when I woke up.  They have almost a tingly, heavy feeling now (5 hours later).  It's been about a year or so since it has happened last.  I have always assumed that it's no big deal but nobody else that I know has ever had it happen so I'm wondering what could be causing it?  The only medical issue that could possibly be related (I think) is a history of disc issues in my back.

Answer
well, that would be my concern that you have some disc disease and laying down exerts some pressure on the low back nerves and it takes a while to recover.  So, you should get a good evaluation by your doctor to look for lumbar disc disease and nerve inpingement......

I hope this helps.....
