Understanding and Treating Impetigo in Infants: A Guide for Parents

my one year old grandaughter has had a terrible rash on her bottom and vagina. i thought it was nappy rash.  Now it is spread to the inside of her bottom up her lower back and now on her face and under her lip. This rash is raised bumps and weeping.
please tell me what it is?

It sounds like yeast.... yeast likes warm and wet, which is why kids get these diaper rashes.... sometimes it can get secondarily infected with bacteria and become impetigo.

So.... treat for diaper rash.... keep clean and dry and use an antifungal cream.  If there are spots that are not resolving then your grandaughter may need some antibiotics.
