Hair Loss After Chemical Straightening: Causes & Solutions

Hi..plse help.  I had my hair straightened in dec. last year & since then it's been falling out!It's so bad that i'm getting bald patches! Not sure if it's because i've had it straightened, i also take Leanor Drops -not sure if that's the reason as i've heard some medications can cause hair loss.  The problem is that the hair is splitting about 1/2 centremetres from the root and just breaking.  I've tried everything from treatments -biosense which is very good shampoo for servere hair damage., virgo tablets that's suppose to help with hairloss & a placenta spray.  Nothing seems to be helping cause it's still breaking - could hair gel be the cause? I've changed my hairbrush, stopped the hair gel and have gotten jane seymour hair spray instead with vitB.  Also have started taking vitaminB tablets.  -The wiered thing is everybody says it looks in such condition (they obviously can't see the bald patches) -it is but it's just breaking!  plse can you help me get to the "root" of the problem.

Hi Cindy,
I would doubt that any of these products are going to be helpful. Whether the problem is related to straightening is best answered by the salon that did the treatment. You might have a vitamin deficiency or possibly a thyroid problem. I'd see your healthcare practitioner to get this evaluated.
