Persistent Sinus Surgery Complication: Crusty Nose Sore & Ear Itching

I had sinus surgery about 8 years ago and I have had a crusty sore on the inside front cartilige that has never healed. Its driving me crazy as it feels itchy crawly at night and wakes me up at 5:00 am every morning. My ears also itch and are wet through the night. My doctor tells me that it has now infected my throat. It gets better when the weather is warm and flares up more in cold weather. My doctor gave me a bacterial cream that has helped but it still has not cleared up after a month, it still itchy and wakes me at 5:00 am.

In some patients this is due to an immune disorder caused by too much plant oil called omega 6 which is high in chicken, peanuts, turkey, all kind of chips, granola  and flax plus products with any of these in them. Some patients can improve their symptoms by taking 3 1000mg fish oil capsules or 2 tsp of omega 3 fish oil before each meal and at bedtime PLUS putting a swab with olive oil up their nose before bed and in the morning. Usually heals in 6-8 weeks.
