Irregular Periods: Causes, Concerns & When to See a Doctor

heyy. my period cycle seems to be really messed up! ever since i got my peroid in gr.7 its never bin regular. im in gr.10 now, and still thingz havent chagnged. I cant even remember the last time i got my peroid. but im on it now right but i've bin on my peroid for about the last 2 weeks! i dont think that is right.
is there something wrong with me?

Thanks for your question.  I get asked this from time to time.  Need to get your hormones checked out at a family practice doctor or a gynecologist.  It's not normal to have irregular periods for 3 years--that's too long.  Periods lasting longer than 2 weeks should also cause you to go to the doctor because there could be a reason you are bleeding.  Also, it can cause you to be anemic--bleeding that long causes tiredness, blood problems, headaches.  Please see a doc.
