Endometrial Cysts: Size, Cancer Risk & Removal - Expert Insights

Question
If I have an endometrial cyst big then 0.5 inch
must be removed ? It is possible to have cancer?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Emilia,
I am not a doctor, but I would choose to have it removed and normally they are not cancerous. Cysts are weird things, they attach and grow but are usually harmless unless they are causing abnormal functioning of an ovary or something. I, too, had cysts, fibroids and nodules removed that were smaller than yours. With endo, it is best just to rid yourself of them, before something else occurs. I also had cancer of my cervix, which was a separate issue from the cysts...I think that because I had endo, it was all related one way or the other.
I hope I have helped you...best of luck to you and be good to yourself!
