QuestionI went to my doctor for my yearly check up. I had my left ovary taken out many years ago because of a cyst. My doctor told he could feel something on the same side where they took my ovary. Doc said I may have scar tissue. endometreosis, cyst, or fibroids. He did not seem alarmed but to come back in the following Monday to keep an eye on it. I have no bleeding. The next day his office wanted me there today for an ultrasound. Now Im fraking out because they called me back early. Now Im very scared I might have cancer.
Can anyone help me.
thank you, donna
AnswerHi Donna,
First off, calm down. Don't get yourself so worked up over this. There could be many reasons you were called back so quickly. Many doctors will schedule an ultrasound if they suspect Endo, cysts and fibroids (even though a Laparoscopy is the only way to deffinately diagnose Endo). Some will do an ultrasound to see if they think a Lap is the next step.
When I went to my first GYN with my period pain he felt around and said he suspected Endo. I was to keep a pain diary for three months and then he would schedule me for a Lap. Two days later I got a call and my Lap was scheduled for three days away.
There could have been an unexpected opening and he wanted to squeeze you in.
So again, calm down, have the test and take it from there.
Sincerely,
Angie
