QuestionHi, my name is Laura. I was diagnosed with FM in 1996. Just recently I have been reading that pelvic pain comes along with FM. So on that note when I started having pain in my ovary I went to a ob/gyn, not knowing that at that time pelvic pain is part of FM. He did a laproscopic procedure and found no endometriosis, he said my ovary looks real good. But with the chronic pain, he wanted to treat it as endo. I started the Lupron shots and that seemed to take the pain away. Well that was for only 6 months, and know my pain is back. So I am scheduled for a partial hysterectomy this month. My question would be, will that take care of the chronic pelvic pain, or if it's only part of my FM, will I continue to have pain after the procedure? Keep in mind that the Lupron shots did work. Just need to know if I am doing the right thing. I'm 38 years, could be a carrier of CF, and FM, so I have made my peace on not having any children. All I want is for this pelvic pain to end, only then I feel I can work on getting my FM, back in control.
AnswerHi Laura,
I really can not give you an answer on this because I am not sure what all is involved i Fibromyalgia. I don't know a lot about this. You may want to ask Martha who is also an expert in this catagory. She may have more knowledge on this issue.
Sorry I could be of no other help. I hope things work out for you.
Sincerely,
Angie
