QuestionAngie,
I had a total hyst, kept ovaries but tubes also removed.
After my hyst and all the endo clean up. I have developed severe left leg pain and cramping. I was even treat for parkinson's for two years .
It is not PD. Anyway, I have been doing some reserach and I have learned that maybe this pain could be endo. How can one really find out. Woudl an MRI of the leg be needed?
Thanks in advance. Cindy
AnswerHi Cindy,
Yes Yes Yes....your leg pain can deffinately be Endo. I have Endo in my right leg. It gets so bad that I lay in bed and cry.
An MRI might help, but the only way to truely diagnose Endo is through Laprascopic surgery.
When my medical records were faxed to the specialists in Georgia, one of the doctors called me to tell me what he saw and how he could help me. Of course my records showed nothing about my leg. I explained to him what I go through when I get my period and how bad my leg hurts. He said that the chances of me having Endo in my leg was 99%.
Talk with your GYN about this. Tell he/she that it is possible that it is Endo and tell them that you want to rule that out before you go any further into other diagnoses. Stand your ground and be firm. Many doctors still don't believe that Endo can be anywhere other than the reproductive area. If your doctor refuses to acknowledge the fact that it may be Endo...find another doctor.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to write again.
Sincerely,
Angie
