QuestionHi Martha
I found out I was pregnant about 10 days ago and since then had terrible lower abdominal pain & backache. I've been to the early pregnancy unit who scanned me and said that it looks like I have a bit of endometriosis. I'm now worried that this can result in miscarriage. She didn't seem to think it was alot of endo (from the way she described it), but I am worried because endo can cause a hormone inbalance that this pregnany will result in miscarriage, especially with the bad pain I've been having. Do you think I should ask from progesterone cream or something?
Many thanks Abi
AnswerDear Abi
First of all...I wouldn't unnecessarily worry myself...it is not good for you now! With endo, some women do miscarry but alot do not. I would keep in close contact with my doctor thru this pregnancy, especially the first trimester, so he/she can monitor your discomfort and why it is happening.
Secondly, I would make sure I was eating well and getting plenty of rest...don't overdo anything at this point.
As far as the progesterone cream, I wouldn't do or take anything until I got advice from my doctor.
I hope you have a successful pregnancy and your pain subsides as you progress...and DO NOT WORRY!
