QuestionHello,
My husband and I are ready to start trying to have our first child. I have Endo, have had since I was 14 when I was diagnosed. My mom and older sister have it. My sister has 2 little girls but she had abruptions with both of her children. Is that due to the endo? Can endo even cause that? My husband and I tried to get pregnant for about 2 months before this current Tour in Iraq. Didn't happen. Now he will be home in 2 months and this time we have 2 years before the next deployment. Not a lot of time when you think about it. So we would like to get pregnant ASAP. What is the best way to go? Fertility treatments? What are the complications of being pregnant with endo? I think that's all my questions. Any advice, information would be most helpful. Thanks,
Myra
AnswerGood Morning Myra,
I'm not a doctor but endo women can get pregnant, it just takes alittle longer to conceive than other women. I have read articles where fertility does help immensely and I have also read where miscarriages are prevalent among endo sufferers...however, all the woman I have known with endo have conceived pretty easily and carried well.
As a matter of fact, most of the girls I know mentioned that after having their babies, the first couple of periods they had, were painless...I think having a baby sort of "cleans out the plumbing" so to speak.
I would keep trying, and seek the fertility path as your last alternative....
Best of luck to you and your husband!
