QuestionDear Martha,
I was diagnosed with endo a couple of years ago after nearly 20 years of pain. A laproscopy was done to remove some of the tissue, but the bleeding was quite bad so my gynae had to stop. Following this, I had a gnrh implant fitted for 6 months which was wonderful. However now, 2 years on, the pain is back and worse than ever. Following a move I have not been back to a gynae (as they said they couldn't do anything more anyway), but I now have atrocious pain every month that actually restricts my breathing! The pain is where it was previously - left side, left back & kidney area, but also appear to have extended upward. Is it possible to have endo on the lung?, as when I try to breathe deeply I am crippled by pain. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, Andrea Loftus
AnswerDear Andrea,
You are the first person I have heard that this has happened to. I, ironically, recently read an article on endo that suggested that endo can affect any part of a womans body, including the "lungs"...
I would seek out a gyno specialist in your area immediately. I can totally empathize with your level of pain, as I also had to endure years of extreme discomfort, before I was formally diagnosed.
Endo can also invade other organs, in extreme cases. A good website to look at is the Endo Research Center site, they may even be able to suggest doctors in your area.
I wish you the best and take care of yourself. If you find out anything interesting, let me know.
Martha
