Endometriosis and Ureters: Understanding Treatment Options & Hormone Therapy

Question
I had hyst in 2000, and lap 3 weeks ago and they found endo again. She removed what she could, said she couldnt get the endo on the ureters. My question is: is it not pos. to remove from the ureters, and also she wants me to quit "bioidentical hormones" and take only progestin, does this sound right? Thanks, Kimberly

Answer
Hi Kimberly
Well sometimes, endo will remain in areas, like the uterus. Estrogen usually works to help reduce growths like endo...so I am surprised that you are on Progesterone. But maybe your doctor knows more than we do!
I might go ahead and get a second opinion...
I had cancer/endo of the cervix and all of it was removed and stayed away...I was also on BC pills (estrogen) for 15 years after that. I am free of cancerous cells now, but still have endo and the horrible symptoms that included cramping, bloating, etc.
I sure hope you feel better and find out why it is, you were placed on progesterone.
