Pregnancy Risk After Intercourse: What You Need to Know

Me and my girlfriend have been having protected sex for a few months, but just a day after her last period ended I had sex and ejaculated in her. The next day I used a spermicide, so should I have anything to worry about?

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor--I just wanted to you know that. In my opinion, yes, she could be pregnant. Anytime you have sex, protected or unprotected, there is the risk of pregnancy. Also, a woman can get pregnant on her period. I know a personal example to that.
I think you would have to use the spermicide at the time, not a day later. I would ask you to consider abstinence to avoid pregnancy or is marriage an option with you two. If you want to ask a followup question, please feel free. I may be on vacation, but you may email me.
